deDraft have started initial designs for the ground floor re-modelling and rear extension of this beautiful terrace home in West Hampstead, North London. Early massing concepts have been developed and modelled in 3D working closely with the client to reconfigure and re-imagine the internal spaces to reflect the various large and small span roof penetrations that can be created.

Utilising natural light as one of the key elements to allocate spatial functions at various times of the day we aim to incorporate a series of intimate spaces for various tasks. This is despite removing structural walls to allow the rear of the property to be fully opened up providing more appealing physical and visual links to the expansive garden and reservoir beyond.

These experiments in both ‘form and function’ seek to work in tandem to fulfill the family’s needs as well as address planning restrictions creating unique tall voids and circulation space in which to display their impressive art and graphics collection.
